Best Sleep Tips For Your Travel Trips

Sleep and travel can both make you healthier and happier

One thing I am looking forward to most in 2021 and beyond, is the return to travel. I love taking trips with my friends and family to go out and have new experiences and see the world. It does not only help me to relax and feel rejuvenated when I return, but I feel inspired and a boost in creativity and inspiration when I travel.

Studies show, travel and sleep both actually have similar positive effects on your health and wellbeing. Did you know that sleep and travel can both improve your overall wellness by:

  • Boosting brain power

  • Strengthening your heart

  • Improving creativity

  • Making you happy ☺

This summer, when you are getting out of the house and traveling the country, make sure you are still prioritizing sleep while making the most of your trip. Keep your sleep schedule as close to your normal routine as possible. Set yourself up for sleep success by surrounding yourself with the best products possible. Make the most of each day on your upcoming vacation while still getting the full 8 hours of sleep each night.

Here are some of my sleep tips for your travel trips:

Bring your own pillow from home.

Never leave home without your favorite pillow! The comfort and familiarity of a pillow from home makes it easier to fall asleep and get a deeper night’s sleep, waking up feeling rested to enjoy your trip.

Put your pillow in a colored pillow case.

When bringing a pillow from home, put it in a brightly colored pillow case so it is easy for the housekeeper to identify it as a personal item as hotel bedding is typically white.

Request your pillow preference ahead of time.

What many people do not know is that most hotels offer a pillow menu of pillows to choose from. From down alternative filled pillows to natural pillows in different densities, from soft to firm they have a variety to fit every preference. You can likely request your preference ahead of time so it’s waiting for you when you check in!

Hotel pillow too soft?

Not a problem. If the place you are staying does not provide a menu of pillows, simply put two pillows in one case for added support.

Need a body pillow?

If you are like me and can’t sleep without a body pillow to cuddle with to feel comfortable, a King size pillow should work in a pinch.

When you are traveling this summer and fall, make sure you are making time to prioritize sleep. Pack a quality pillow with you like the Polar Point Cool Touch Pillow from Pottery Barn. Technology embedded in the yarns of the Polar Point™ sleep surface absorbs excess heat for an extra cool touch sleep environment that will help you fall asleep quicker and stay asleep longer. This is the perfect product to pack to be prepared for unpredictable hotel rooms.

Travel and see the world, get some sleep tonight so you can create the trip of your dreams tomorrow.
